We love this one joke. The punch line is, "I'm a rapist." Not a topic many, certainly not those of refined tastes, are amused by. That is recognized. Nonetheless, the joke is funny, not because rape is funny, but because the statement, "I'm a rapist," is unexpected. We both told the Aristocrats joke at a party one summer, just before the movie about the joke had been released. My version was dirtier. Both got laughs. We take comedy seriously. |
